Bastian Schweinsteiger – Bayern Munich & Germany
FIFA 15 Rating – 88
Predicted FIFA 16 Rating – 87
Like a number of his Bayern teammates, Bastian Schweinsteiger has suffered an injury hit season. Starting only 15 league games, Schweinsteiger scored five goals and provided four assists as Bayern retained their Bundesliga title. In six Champions League games Schweinsteiger supplied five assists showing that when he plays, what an important player he can be. A composed central midfielder, Schweinsteiger is also versatile enough to play either on the left of the right. Rated as one of the best central midfielders in European football, Schweinsteiger is fantastic with the ball at feet and also possesses a powerful shot. His nickname is the ‘Midfield Motor’ due to his high energy rates and box to box abilities.
A World Cup winner with Germany last summer, Schweinsteiger was appointed German captain after Bayern teammate Philipp Lahm retired from international football. Schweinsteiger will now be aiming to lead his county to Euro 2016 glory next summer.
Schweinsteiger will be hoping for an injury free 2015-16 season as he aims to help Bayern fight for both domestic and European success before focussing on leading the national team into Euro 2016.
